Foundation Story
In 2005, a heartfelt vision came to life when Mary Northmore, an Indonesian citizen of British origin, responded to a plea from Prof. Dr David David, Australia’s most prominent Cranio-facial surgeon. He explained that his efforts to help patients in Eastern Indonesia were hampered by a lack of infrastructure for patients to actually access the treatment. In response and with support from a number of volunteers and supporters, Mary founded Smile Foundation.
The dream was to alleviate the suffering associated with craniofacial abnormalities and to transform lives through accessible healthcare. Today, Smile Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and adults across Indonesia. The Foundation firmly believes in Accountability, Transparency, and Ethical standards.
