Prior to operations, patients are reviewed by a series of specialists. Treatment may include more than one operation and may take up to three months.
Australian Indonesian Association
A contributing factor to their wellbeing and recovery is the support they receive from a wonderful group of volunteers from the Australian Indonesian Association in Adelaide. Members visit patients, provide warm clothing, take them on outings and generally offer friendship and support.
Getting Patients to Adelaide
Yayasan Senyum provides a contribution of Aust$ 1,500 to the Unit as well as funding and organising passports, visas and airfares for the patient and one escort. During 2007 Qantas generously granted subsidised airfares for our patients.
