Look At Her Smile.....
Sabariah is a 25 year old from Lombok, who was diagnosed with a parotic tumor and she came to Yayasan Senyum Bali in the hope that we could help her to get an operation. She was at the Smile House for few days to get all the necessary pre-ops and was scheduled to have her operation. But she had to have an emergency surgery done earlier because her tumor started breaking out. Under the hand of Dr Nyoman Riasa, SpBP and his team, Sabariah underwent the surgery with such an incredible result (please see photos before and after-above) It's the most amazing result we have ever seen. what a beautiful happy smile!!!

Home again: Ni Luh Suwetri and her husband had almost given up hope but now they are very pleased with the result
Patients Return from Adelaide
In August 2008 one of our patients, Ni Luh Suwetri and her husband returned from Adelaide after Ni Luh underwent surgery at the Australian Craniofacial Unit Adelaide. She was diagnosed with a serious intramuscular fibromatosis which affected her right eye. With the genourous support of Mr and Mrs Andrews (Australia), finally Ni Luh can be free from the fear of losing her sight.

Surf Carnival Helps Senyum
In August, we received a visit from Glenn Schapel and Dale Allman who were holidaying in Bali from Adelaide in South Australia where Glenn is a member of the Australian Indonesian Society. Glenn and Dale had set up and staged a Surfing Carnival in Kuta to raise funds for Senyum. This was a very successful event and the guys handed over a generous cheque to Mary at the Smile House.

New Smile Shop
When Mary Northmore started the First Smile Shop in December 2006, it was a bit of a gamble. Would a charity shop work in Bali? It has indeed exceeded all our expectations. And now we have just opened the second Smile Shop at Jl Segara Ayu no 2 Sanur. A new venue to bring our Smile Shop concept from Ubud to the people further south - The Gala Opening is Saturday, 11 October 2008.
The Smile Shop in Ubud has enabled us to cover all on-going administration costs including staff wages, as well as meet unexpected patient costs. We are very confident that this new Sanur Smile Shop will be just as successful. Thank you to the donors of goods to sell and the buyer/donors who frequent the shop, and Welcome to the Second Smile Shop in Sanur!
